Hello Parents,

I know we have not been to many Bible Quizzes, but I wanted to let you know that we have one coming up. The kids do not compete against each other, but it does give them an opportunity to see how much they have learned and to be encouraged to keep studying God’s Word. If anyone is interested please let me know ASAP. I would like to organize it, but need to know who wants to go. Here is the list of upcoming quizzes. Thank you!!!

Saturday, Nov. 12th in Orange Park – Over Lessons 6-10
Saturday, Jan. 14th at FCC (Home)
Saturday, Feb. 11th in Ocala
Saturday, Mar. 10th in Nuesmerna

Hello Parents!

Our children’s ministry has a few opportunities.

  • Coordinator for our Children’s Annual Christmas Party (On either Dec. 2nd or Dec. 3rd)
  • Helpers for our Children’s Christmas Program. Practice dates are Nov. 2nd, Nov. 9th, Nov. 16th, Nov. 30 and maybe on Dec. 3rd. Program is on Sunday morning on Dec. 4th.
  • Yeah! Our 1st – 3rd graders need a new Sunday morning class. This means we need 2 to 3 teachers to switch Sundays.

Please pray about these awesome opportunities to get involved in Children’s Ministry. As the Lord leads you to participate, please contact me with questions and/or commitments. Have a blessed day!

Hello Kids and Parents!

It is time for us to build a bridge to our community. Christ’s Cupboard is a food pantry at Celebration Lutheran Church on Roberts Road by Cunningham Creek Elementary. FCC is partnering with them to help supply their pantry with food for the holidays and throughout the year. Currently, they are serving 25-30 families a week and their supplies are very low. They will be at our Fall Festival this Saturday and will be collecting non perishable food items. We will also be collecting items during children’s worship, every Sunday.

Parents, Please use this opportunity to teach your child the joy of giving. You can read more about the joy of giving at Focus On The Family http://www.focusonthefamily.com/parenting/spiritual_growth_for_kids/teaching_servanthood/stewardship_sacrifice_and_a_ceiling_fan_teaching_kids_the_joy_of_giving.aspx
Have a blessed week!!!! I am looking forward to celebrating our Saviors birth with you all.

There will be NO practice tonight. We are going to have our Explorer’s Praise Practices on the Family First Practice nights until November. Family First Practice nights are the Wed night before the 1st Sunday of the new month. I will send reminder e-mails the closer we get to a practice/performance. The next one will be on Sept. 28th from 6-7 pm. In November, we will go to EVERY Wed night, because we will be gearing up for our Christmas Program on Sunday, Dec. 4th. So mark your calendars and be ready for those important practice days.

In case you haven’t heard, we have a new ministry for the kids. It is called Explorer Praise. Kayla Soucy will be leading our children in worship. She has danced at FCC and at many other christian events and competitions. She will be teaching the kids different styles of outward worship. They will be learning interpretive dance along with motions using dowel rods and other fun props. Kayla’s first project with them will be an interpretive dance to the song “The Presents of the Lord Is Here” by Byron Cage. She will also begin working on a Christmas Performance. You can see an example of how dowel rods would be used in a song by clicking on It is just to give you an idea of what the kids will be doing. If you have any questions and/or plan on being at any of the practice, please let us know. Thank you so much! I believe the children will love this time of worship.

You can find out more about the company who produces the training videos we will use to produce the Christmas Program at http://www.saltandlightmin.org/shop/

Man, I can’t believe it!  How time flies.  My baby!  My baby is grown up.  She went to school today for the 1st time.  She had no fear wearing her pink worn-out converse and white knee high socks (of course pulled up to her knees), her hair in a braided pony tale and giant pink, hello kitty back pack on.  It was precious.  I didn’t cry.  I wasn’t sad.  I think it’s because I am excited for her.  She has been stuck with her mom and dad since day one.  It is time for her to venture out on her own.  Out of the nest.   I will post a picture later.  Got to get it off my camera.  Hopefully sooner then later.   Have a blessed day!!!

I have learned many new things today about communication.

Are my kids crazy? They love to wear buckets on their heads…
