Hey, if you looking for things to do with your kids, take a look at the First Coast Parents website www.firstcoastparent.com or pick up their FREE magazine at the library or other places around town.  When I look at this magazine it gets me all excited about the possibilities of activities I can do with my family and even the kids at church.  If you haven’t heard of this cool family resource, check it out.

This is my wonderful family at our church Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 22nd.  Since I was in charge of the event, we didn’t have much time together.   If it weren’t for these pictures, I wouldn’t have been able to see Hailey hunt for her first Easter Eggs.  I am so glad they were there with me!100_0954.jpg

We had a great turnout.  There were over 1,000 eggs, 30 kids ranging from infant - 5th grade, 7 new families and 88 people joined us for lunch.  We didn’t quite make my personal goal of 100 kids, but we did share the Good News of Jesus with the children and their families before the Easter Egg Hunt.  The seed of salvation was planted and God was blessed.  God is good!

100_0955.jpgNext year, I say we shoot for 1,000 kids.  It is the number the Lord is shouting at me!!!!
“Jesus looked at the disciples and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”  (Matthew 19:26)  Let’s answer the call and make an impact on this community we live in by sharing the love of Jesus with everyone we come into contact 100_0956.jpgwith.  This year there will be several opportunities for us to proclaim the good news as we move into our new church home on CR210.  As time allows and as God calls you, come ready to serve and share during those opportunities.
Good Evening Ladies!
This is a wonderful spring for the women of Jacksonville.  We have two very good conferences coming to our town.  It will be a great time to Refresh, have Fun, Hear stories from Real Women, and to Connect with God and with Each Other.  Please take a look below for details.  My prayer is that you will be able to take advantage of one of these events, if not both.  Please pass this information along to your girlfriends!
Blessings,
Sara

Swim Fun March 2008

I confess my sin to you all.  I am addicted to TV.  Not educational, informational and/or helpful programs.  I will take anything that has sound to drown out the silence.  When I am home alone, I feel the need to turn it on.

Now that I am a stay at home mom, I find the tv is on all day long.  Living this way has made my life feel empty.  It leaves me with no time to stop and Not to sure about the snorkle mask

listen to God’s voice to guide and direct me through my day.  (I need that to survive.)  I also find myself chained to the tv.  I can’t run errands, can’t take a walk, can’t read a book, can’t take extended time out to pray and read God’s Word.  All this, because I need to stay within eye and ear shot of that stinky tv.

I woke up on Friday, March 14th saying to myself that this is no way to live, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!!  I spent time in prayer and in the Word.  I asked God for wisdom.  The answer was obvious, but I was struggling.  He told me to STOP, COLD TURKEY!  So I did!

I tell you what!  I have had THE BEST WEEK EVER and I really haven’t missed the noise at all.  Now I hear new sounds, the beautiful Splash!sounds of life all around me.  I can hear God’s voice guiding and directing me as I work through the day’s chores.  I take the time to listen to my daughter drink her bottle, which pulls on my heart strings.  It touches me in a way that is indescribable.  (Some of you mommies know this noise!)

Some of the pictures in today’s blog are pictures from a beautiful, sunny day the whole family spent together outside playing in the water, washing the jeep, listening to the birds and visiting with Pastor Laban, Ashley and their dog when they walked by.  (This is not the norm at our house, but I would like for it to be.)

It has been a Me & My Brotherwonderful week!

Thank you Jesus for pointing out the things I can change to make my life more fruitful.  Ways I can change to have more time with you and my family.

FYI:  My week ends on Monday, March 24th and I will not go back to turning the TV on for background noise.  I will only allow myself to watch it just a few hours a week.

April 26th from 9am-12pm we will be at the Betty Griffin House Thrift Store cleaning and organizing donations as they come in.  The store is located in Julington Creek at the Plantation Plaza, 616 S.R. 13 North (1/2 mile south of Racetrack Road).  This is a FAMILY FRIENDLY service project.  It is like a chore day at home.  You can hang clothes, organize toys and books, collect unused hangers (my personal favorite), clean the bathroom and dressing rooms and sweep.  There will be work for all ages.  After 12 pm feel free to stay and work longer or join us at McDonalds for lunch.

Two teens and an adult from the church were able to join JCP CARES at their work day and cook out at the Homeless Coalition in St. Augustine on March 15th.

You can click on this link to see the article that The St. Augustine Record wrote regarding “Spring Cleaning Initiative”

http://staugustine.com/stories/031608/news_txt01_001.shtml

JCP CARES was the lead story on page 1.

Those who went were blessed to give of themselves just by serving others in simple ways; power washing, painting and gardening.

Thank you to those who were involved in this work day and to JCP CARES for putting this event together.

Please keep posted.  More opportunities to GET CONNECTED with your community are on the way.

OUR FCC KIDS ARE THE BOMB!!!
I want to start off by thanking our wonderful children for their hard work.  The play was wonderful and the Story of Easter was told by you to all who where there.  We received many complements for your hard work.  Your voices were loud and clear when you sang and there was a lot of memorization.  You all did a fabulous job.  You all are the BEST and I love working with you.  Thanks!

I also want to thank the parents for your time practicing with the children, bringing them to practice and making our practice dinners so delicious.
I am excited about our Christmas Program.  As soon as I find the play for us, I will give you our practice schedules, scripts and music.  Thanks again for all your hard work.  Have a great week and we will see you  Friday night at the Good Friday service at the Property starting at 6:30 pm or at the Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday at Alpine Groves Park starting at 10:00 am.  Blessings to you all!
I hope you all enjoyed the illusions and balloon story shared by the Red Nose Ministries at our March Family First Sunday.  I know I really enjoyed it.  It was a nice change of pace and the balloons were awesome.  I wish I could tell stories like that.  Wouldn’t that be fun?
This FFS the kids will be leading worship.  We have been practicing during our Children’s Church time and the kids are ready.  If your child would like to help lead worship that Sunday, April 6th, please have them at church by 9:30 am.  We will take a few minutes to practice on stage before the service.  Thank you!!!
Have a wonderful Easter/Resurrection weekend.

We have been practicing on Sunday mornings while we are together, but we need a few more practices outside of church.  Our first practice will be March 9th after the Sunday morning service.  We will stay after church, have lunch and practice.  On Friday, March 14th from 5:30-7:30 we will eat dinner/practice/dress rehearsal/stage set up.  I will need parents participation to take some kids aside and work on lines, to set up the stage, to organize our dinner and help with music.

We need plants to set up the stage to look like the kids are on the edge of a pond fishing.  If you have plants that can be used for the musical, please bring them that Friday night.  You can take them home on Sunday after the morning service.  We also need four fishing pools for the kids to use as props.
I hope you have enjoyed working with your kids on their lines and learning the music.  It is a sweet little play and is a wonderful time for the whole family to focus on the true meaning of this magnificent holiday.
****If you cannot make it to the practices or to the musical, please let me know ASAP****  Thank you all for your assistance in making this event happen for our children.
