pumpkin-patch-1This Fall & Winter have been AMAZING!  We moved into our new facility on CR 210 in September, we had our 1st Pumpkin Patch, Fall Festival, and Open House.  The children put on a Christmas Program and we enjoyed several Christmas celebrations; Children’s Christmas Party, Annual Christmas Gathering (Worship & Breakfast), Westminster Retirement Home Caroling and Christmas Eve Candlelight Service. family-photo1 2008 has been a blessing!  Thank you LORD for all of the gifts and blessings you have given FCC this year.

Worship Explorer Sundays

We are currently trying to give the children several opportunities to pray for one another.

  1. Prayer Pals: Stuffed animals with pockets full of prayer requests or praise reports from the other children at church.  (When your child brings home one of our Prayer Pals, please remember to encourage your child to pray for their friends  daily and to return the Prayer Pal the next Sunday.)
  2. Harvest Prayer Tree: Children put their prayer requests on a fruit (apple) and place it on the tree.  When the prayer is answered, they pick it and place it in the Harvest Basket.  This will help strengthen their faith as they see how God answers prayer.

January Memory Verse
“(5) But if anyone obeys his word, God’s love is truly made complete in him.  This is how we know we are in him:  (6) Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did.” (1 John 2:5-6)

Prayer Emphasis: Breaking Down the Walls! (Joshua 6)

Sunday, August 24th – Saturday, August 30th

Sunday-Friday: STOP at 7 o’clock (am or pm) and pray – join us at the property on CR 210 if you can.  Prayer guides are provided.  You can pick yours up at church or at the property during the designated prayer times.

Saturday (8/30): From noon til 7 pm, we’ll have 7 hrs of continuous prayer at the church building.  Prayer stations will be set up throughout the building.  For the last hour (6-7 pm) we’ll have a time for everyone to join together for prayer, celebration…and we’ll even try marching around the building 7 times (bring down SPIRITUAL walls, not physical walls!)

Hello!  It has been a very long time since I posted anything.  We have some really exciting things happening at FCC.  Before September is over, we will be in our new Worship Facility on CR 210 W.

We are so HAPPY to WELCOME Melody Parker and Kimberly Atkinson to our Children’s Ministry Team.  Melody Parker is our 1st Nursery Coordinator; infants – crawlers.  Kimberly Atkinson is our 1st Toddler Coordinator; walkers – 41/2 yrs old.  These two women have done a phenomenal job organizing the security procedures, volunteers and children.  If you are interested in volunteering in either of these classes, please contact one of them or myself.  Both of these ministries are very important to the spiritual foundation of our babies and toddlers.  It will be a rewarding time for you and the children as you worship God together.  There will be singing and dancing, story time, play time, organized activity time and snack time.  Please join our Nursery!!!

In Worship Explorers, we have four children graduating into the Teen Group.  We will continue to see them as the rotate in throughout the month to help with puppets, worship and more.  If your teenager would like to volunteer with the Worship Explorers, please e-mail me or see me at church and we will get them started.  We have a great time together and your teen will not miss out on God’s Word and Worship Time.

In just two months we will have our first Pumpkin Patch at the Worship Center on 210.  If you and your family would like to volunteer an evening or Saturday, we could use your help.  For more information, please contact the church office (904) 287-3223.  We need to collect as many pallets as we can before October 13th, to place pumpkins on when they This is a great place for the family to visit and make memories.arrive.  If you have any unused pallets, can you collect them and bring them to the church property? Or if you know where I can get some, please e-mail me or contact the church office.

Please join us for Worship on Sunday at Cunningham Creek Elementary at 10:00 am.  Have a blessed weekend!

Hey, if you looking for things to do with your kids, take a look at the First Coast Parents website www.firstcoastparent.com or pick up their FREE magazine at the library or other places around town.  When I look at this magazine it gets me all excited about the possibilities of activities I can do with my family and even the kids at church.  If you haven’t heard of this cool family resource, check it out.

This is my wonderful family at our church Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 22nd.  Since I was in charge of the event, we didn’t have much time together.   If it weren’t for these pictures, I wouldn’t have been able to see Hailey hunt for her first Easter Eggs.  I am so glad they were there with me!100_0954.jpg

We had a great turnout.  There were over 1,000 eggs, 30 kids ranging from infant - 5th grade, 7 new families and 88 people joined us for lunch.  We didn’t quite make my personal goal of 100 kids, but we did share the Good News of Jesus with the children and their families before the Easter Egg Hunt.  The seed of salvation was planted and God was blessed.  God is good!

100_0955.jpgNext year, I say we shoot for 1,000 kids.  It is the number the Lord is shouting at me!!!!
“Jesus looked at the disciples and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”  (Matthew 19:26)  Let’s answer the call and make an impact on this community we live in by sharing the love of Jesus with everyone we come into contact 100_0956.jpgwith.  This year there will be several opportunities for us to proclaim the good news as we move into our new church home on CR210.  As time allows and as God calls you, come ready to serve and share during those opportunities.

Swim Fun March 2008

I confess my sin to you all.  I am addicted to TV.  Not educational, informational and/or helpful programs.  I will take anything that has sound to drown out the silence.  When I am home alone, I feel the need to turn it on.

Now that I am a stay at home mom, I find the tv is on all day long.  Living this way has made my life feel empty.  It leaves me with no time to stop and Not to sure about the snorkle mask

listen to God’s voice to guide and direct me through my day.  (I need that to survive.)  I also find myself chained to the tv.  I can’t run errands, can’t take a walk, can’t read a book, can’t take extended time out to pray and read God’s Word.  All this, because I need to stay within eye and ear shot of that stinky tv.

I woke up on Friday, March 14th saying to myself that this is no way to live, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!!  I spent time in prayer and in the Word.  I asked God for wisdom.  The answer was obvious, but I was struggling.  He told me to STOP, COLD TURKEY!  So I did!

I tell you what!  I have had THE BEST WEEK EVER and I really haven’t missed the noise at all.  Now I hear new sounds, the beautiful Splash!sounds of life all around me.  I can hear God’s voice guiding and directing me as I work through the day’s chores.  I take the time to listen to my daughter drink her bottle, which pulls on my heart strings.  It touches me in a way that is indescribable.  (Some of you mommies know this noise!)

Some of the pictures in today’s blog are pictures from a beautiful, sunny day the whole family spent together outside playing in the water, washing the jeep, listening to the birds and visiting with Pastor Laban, Ashley and their dog when they walked by.  (This is not the norm at our house, but I would like for it to be.)

It has been a Me & My Brotherwonderful week!

Thank you Jesus for pointing out the things I can change to make my life more fruitful.  Ways I can change to have more time with you and my family.

FYI:  My week ends on Monday, March 24th and I will not go back to turning the TV on for background noise.  I will only allow myself to watch it just a few hours a week.

April 26th from 9am-12pm we will be at the Betty Griffin House Thrift Store cleaning and organizing donations as they come in.  The store is located in Julington Creek at the Plantation Plaza, 616 S.R. 13 North (1/2 mile south of Racetrack Road).  This is a FAMILY FRIENDLY service project.  It is like a chore day at home.  You can hang clothes, organize toys and books, collect unused hangers (my personal favorite), clean the bathroom and dressing rooms and sweep.  There will be work for all ages.  After 12 pm feel free to stay and work longer or join us at McDonalds for lunch.

Two teens and an adult from the church were able to join JCP CARES at their work day and cook out at the Homeless Coalition in St. Augustine on March 15th.

You can click on this link to see the article that The St. Augustine Record wrote regarding “Spring Cleaning Initiative”

http://staugustine.com/stories/031608/news_txt01_001.shtml

JCP CARES was the lead story on page 1.

Those who went were blessed to give of themselves just by serving others in simple ways; power washing, painting and gardening.

Thank you to those who were involved in this work day and to JCP CARES for putting this event together.

Please keep posted.  More opportunities to GET CONNECTED with your community are on the way.
